Marcs Updater

There have been some reports about issues with the Updater not updating anymore. Please try the latest beta version and switch to another IP Check provider instead of the previous default dnsomatic.com. For some reason they are rate-limiting the number of requests to their service. The new IP Check provider selection allows you to choose another provider in such cases. You can test the functionality with the new "Test" panel.

If you want to add a custom provider to the unstable testing version, store a JSON file like the following under %PROGRAMDATA%\Marcs Updater\ServiceProviders\dyndns.json:

{
    "name": "DynDNS.org (Test)",
    "endpoint": "https://members.dyndns.org/nic/update",
    "method": "GET",
    "queryString": "hostname={HOSTNAME}&myip={MYIP}",
    "dataPayload": "",
    "defaults": {
        "username": "test",
        "password": "test",
        "hostname": "test1.customtest.dyndns.org"
    }
}

Supported query and payload tags are {USERNAME}, {PASSWORD}, {HOSTNAME} and {MYIP}. Restart the background service and foreground application to apply any changes.

Dear all!

I'm running version 305 and I'm getting a badauth error with DynDNS.

1) The password of the DynDNS account wasn't changed.
2) The badauth error occurred on multiple pc's running version 305 or earlier.
3) Occurred after a Windows update, unknown which one.
4) Occurred on Win 10 & Win 7 and Win 8.1 randomly, on multiple pc's.
5) When re-entering the password again (same one), it works fine again. But for how long? ;-)

I think the cause is related to a Windows 10 update... Or Dyn changing the hash of the password or something like that?
Is it possible to determine that?

Any idea how this can be fixed in the future?

Any news? This happens from time to time on several pc's...
Looks like Dyn is rehashing the password or something and I have to re-enter the password again in Marcs Updater...
Annoying when those pc's are far away...
