Marcs Updater

There have been some reports about issues with the Updater not updating anymore. Please try the latest beta version and switch to another IP Check provider instead of the previous default dnsomatic.com. For some reason they are rate-limiting the number of requests to their service. The new IP Check provider selection allows you to choose another provider in such cases. You can test the functionality with the new "Test" panel.

If you want to add a custom provider to the unstable testing version, store a JSON file like the following under %PROGRAMDATA%\Marcs Updater\ServiceProviders\dyndns.json:

{
    "name": "DynDNS.org (Test)",
    "endpoint": "https://members.dyndns.org/nic/update",
    "method": "GET",
    "queryString": "hostname={HOSTNAME}&myip={MYIP}",
    "dataPayload": "",
    "defaults": {
        "username": "test",
        "password": "test",
        "hostname": "test1.customtest.dyndns.org"
    }
}

Supported query and payload tags are {USERNAME}, {PASSWORD}, {HOSTNAME} and {MYIP}. Restart the background service and foreground application to apply any changes.

Hello Marc.
Recently dyndns announced the termination of their free services.
I would like to see your application using cPanel API to update zones for those with custom domains:

Thank you for reading :)

Can you add medical it services dyndns system?

It is the same like SPDNS but with dyndns.medical-it-services.de as the update path.

hi,

could you implement a function to enter different DNS services? there are many free dynamic DNS services your client does not cover.

Hi, I have a query. I have started using your updater as of today. Can i get options to put more than one hostname in the updater for single server like user1.dyndns.xxx and user2.dyndns.xxx . this is because i want to give seperate hostnames to seperate people for access. if possible do let me know how to do it . thanks in advance

It doesn't update dnsomatic anymore. I have two hosts in dnsomatic - no-ip and opendns, both has separate "hostnames". Neither are updated if I don't write a hostname. Only one is updated if I write a hostname (the hostname's host).  So it is useless with dnsomatic now.

Hello Marc,

Is there some kind of "Forced" update that update the IP even if it didn't changed ? If yes, what is the interval for this update ?
We wanted to know because some DDNS provider can block your account if you do too many "forced" update in a short period of time.

Thanks,

Hi,
simple to use, a service, it seems to be good.
Unfortunately, i have no DynDNS account, i plan to use it with Strato DynDNS.
Are you planning a feature like this? Many users would be happy about this.
